It's about connecting, inspiring, healing & growing
High Mountain Horsemanship Outreach exist to inspire growth, hope & healing in people by partnering with horses and God.
High Mountain is a faith based, 501c3 non-profit organization currently located in Southeastern Kentucky, edge of the Appalachian Mountains. We are a mission focused equestrian center situated in the cozy village of Annville just North of London, Kentucky. The strength, beauty and grace of horses is used by God to reach hearts and equip people for growth & life. At High Mountain we use Relational Horsemanship to train our horses and also to mentor. Relational Horsemanship is built on the principles of building Partnerships on a foundation of earned trust and respect. Coupling Relational Horsemanship with Equine Assisted Learning & Therapies allows us to teach the power and healing possible through horses and God.
The founders, Mitch and Christie Schumacher, joint hearts for nature, horses, adventure and God led them to the development of High Mountain. In 2007 High Mountain came into existance and they started building facilities on the historic Annville Institute campus. Next door was a regional boys home for at-risk youth and there were many hurting youth, veterans and individuals in the community. This seemed like the ideal location to fulfill their desire to partner with their horses to share with others the peace, joy, grace, and healing that God had shown them.
